Beloved Brooklyn

Today was my first official day at my new job in Brooklyn! It is such a great feeling to be working in a field you went to school for and being at a job you truly love! I know I am on the right path and I've worked really hard for this for a long time. My first day on the job and I was already writing letters to congressmen asking them to support one of the projects are firm is working on. I even went to New York City water and sewer board and requested ancient documents my boss was pretty impressed with my assertiveness and ability to get information despite their unwillingness.  I took the train to Metropark and Connor pick me up even though he told me not to get used to it! It's exciting but frustrating at the same time knowing this isn't permanent and then I'll have to figure out more ways to commute or move to the city. That's part of all the fun love not knowing what's going to happen next and where you wind up. My boyfriend picked me up from the train and we went on a very romantic date to our favorite local restaurant and afterwards he suggested we go bowling. It was really cute watching him Bowl and he is pretty impressed with my awesome skills. It meant a lot to me that he took the time to take me out on a Tuesday night and I really appreciate him making the effort to make my special day even more special because it was a celebration of our journey together! I had a lot of support and encouragement along the way and I will never forget those times he wouldn't let me give up. There were even times that he believed in me more than I believed in myself.  I don't think he knows how inspiring he was for me and he truly kept hope alive.
To more great adventures in New Jersey and New York and in Brooklyn! May the world be as wonderful as you see it and may your path be as smooth as you make!

Easter

This year Easter is on April 20, 2014
I had a very lovely Easter... my mom came over Connors hid my Easter basket and we all went to church together with Connors family. I had never been to John Monroe's church before it was a lovely experience and the music was so beautiful. Andrea was leading the choir. John Monroe gave a beautiful sermon about fear and joy. Next adventure was in point Pleasant at Aunt Kathleen's house... everyone came! The cookies Connor and I baked were a hit! Aunt Nicki, Uncle Brian, Owen and Avery came all the way from Baltimore! They got so big. Courtney and Gary came from Connecticut and uncle John and Aunt Meagan and Katie were there. Mary and Samantha and Mike Jenn Gabby Aiden and AJ! I got to hold baby AJ while he picked at everyone's fingers! While I was holding AJ on the couch Connor was sitting next to me with Brad and Joe.
AJ and his big brother Auden had matching green Easter shirts on ... They were adorable <3
Grandpa Bo was there with Debbie they came from South Jersey and he brought tons of old photographs of Sandyhook. It was really cool to see past generations living right where I am now. And I love hearing all the stories behind every photo!

We left point and headed back to Connors House for Easter... We played a fun Game of charades! Ate lots of fruit with Moscotto.  I got to meet the new puppy Kojak...Teddy's new brother! He is so playful and kept barking at Connor for some reason and then he came up to me and licked me on the face! I think he might be rather fond of me <3 I'm still in love with teddy but Kojack is quickly becoming a favorite! Charades was a lot of fun and it lasted until the phone died! Once everyone left me Diane John Connor and I went for a walk around the neighborhood with Jake and Ally. I was a great night to a wonderful Easter!

NYC SWIM Event

I went into the city for a storm water infrastructure matters event with my friend Megan. We had such a great time and we met so many wonderful and inspiring people. It was such a beautiful night and what a beautiful space overlooking the Hudson River. This is the beginning of more adventures into sustainability. Megan and I are determined to make a difference. I'm all registered for my Green Roof Profesional exam this April and Meg is taking her LEED certification in June. It's study time!
